At Simply Massage and Bodywork, LLC, we are focused on helping our clients lead healthier more fulfilling lives. We strive to stay true to our traditions and provide education, honesty, healing and a safe environment to support our clients holistic healthcare journey. We believe that massage is most definitely a necessity to ensure proper function of the mind, body, and soul. It is an essential tool in combating the pandemonium of everyday life. Through different modalities, such as Deep Tissue Massage, Swedish Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Sports Massage, and Therapeutic Touch, we are able to ensure that our clients leave feeling rejuvenated and relaxed.

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue or fascia. This type of massage focuses on the muscles located below the surface of the top layer of muscles. Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity (such as athletes), and patients who have sustained physical injury. It is not uncommon for receivers of deep tissue massage to have their pain replaced with a new muscle ache for a day or two.

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage utilizes long, flowing strokes, most often in the direction of the heart. Six basic strokes: effleurage, petrissage, friction, tapotement, compression and vibration are designed to increase circulation and blood flow. It may also provide relief from stiffness, numbness, pain, constipation, and other health problems. The main purpose of Swedish massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. Swedish massage shortens recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes. It significantly helps increases circulation without increasing heart load.

Trigger Point Therapy

Also known as Neuromuscular Therapy, this form of massage utilizes static pressure on specific myofascial points to relieve pain. This technique manipulates the soft tissue of the body (muscles, tendons and connective tissue) to balance the central nervous system.

Sports Massage

Sports massage focuses on muscles relevant to the event. For athletes who train continuously, the goal is to enhance endurance, lessen the chance of injury and shorten the time needed to recover. Sports Massage may utilize a variety of techniques such as classical Swedish Massage, trigger point therapy, and hydrotherapy. Prior to an athletic event, Sports Massage may be used with stretching in order to help athletes to loosen, warm and prepare their muscles so that their performance and endurance might be enhanced. Following an athletic event, Sports Massage may be used to relieve pain, prevent stiffness, and return the muscles back to their normal state. Sports Massage may also be used for injury rehabilitation.

Prenatal Massage

Prenatal Massage focuses on the mother-to-be as she goes through the changes due to pregnancy. This is not a replacement for medical care, but rather as an adjunct to aid in the health and rapid recovery of the mother. After the mother has given birth, treatment will assist in restoring the body back to its normal condition. Prenatal massage may also help reduce and/or eliminate excess water retention, enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation and general body tone, and relieves mental and physical fatigue.

Muscle Energy Technique

A manual therapy that uses the gentle muscle contractions of the client to relax and lengthen muscles and normalize joint motion. These techniques may be used singly as part of a therapeutic massage or in sequence as a distinct treatment to address more complex joint mobility issues.
